Today is National Purple Heart Day–honoring those injured in the service of their country. Mayor Jake Woodford marked the day by declaring Appleton to be a Purple Heart City. Mayor Woodford also took part in a re-dedication ceremony for the veterans memorial inside Memorial Park.
