In the wake of a driveway scam case in Brown County, the Better Business Bureau is urging people to be careful.
The group’s Susan Bach says the arrest of Mico Miller last week is just the latest example. She says contractors need to have a state license, and potential door-to-door customers should ask to see it.
Prosecutors say Miller called himself an “asphalt gypsy,” and he was traveling around the state targeting elderly people.
Brown County Sheriff’s deputies say a couple reported Miller showed up with materials to seal their driveway, for $10,000. They say the couple paid $3,000 because they were worried about being hurt.
