The death of a Green Bay firefighter on this day 14 years ago has led to safety improvements across the country.
On August 14th of 2006, Lt. Arnie Wolff was killed while fighting a basement fire. Wolff was inside the home when the floor collapsed.
Asst. Chief Rob Goplin says he travels the U.S., teaching other department ways to prevent that from happening again. One of the new techniques is to cut holes in the walls, and the first-level floor, to get water into the basement.
