Some people in northeast Wisconsin are paying more for their property taxes than in other parts of the state.
Wisconsin Policy Forum Researcher Jason Stein says among the state’s 10 largest cities Appleton is in the middle of the pack followed by Oshkosh and then Green Bay in ninth place. Green Bay spends $1,160 per person and Appleton spends $884.
He says the numbers for spending per capita are much different. Stein says Green Bay’s figure is higher than Appleton and Oshkosh. He says those totals vary, depending on the amount of state funding each community gets.
Stein thinks it’s too soon to tell how the pandemic will impact the numbers.
