Governor Evers sent more Wisconsin National Guard soldiers to the Kenosha area before last night’s protests.
He also declared a state of emergency because of the damage done in the city, and Madison, since a police shooting.
Evers says 250 troops were available in Kenosha County to support peaceful protesters can demonstrate safely, while protecting property and supporting first responders and firefighters.
The governor is asking not to let the actions of a few, take away from what needs to be done to demand justice, equity, and accountability.
