The annual fundraising campaign for the United Way Fox Cities is underway.
The nonprofit kicked it off virtually yesterday. There isn’t a specific goal this year.
President Peter Kelly says they’d be ecstatic if they come close to last year’s total of nearly $9 million. He says they’re trying to raise as much as possible for the programs they support.
He’s happy with how the virtual event turned out. At one point, about 500 people were watching, and he hopes they learned about some of the things the United Way does.
The online event featured videos, with stories of how various programs are helping people in the community.
