School social workers thinks it will be an adjustment for many students to get used to the “new normal” in classrooms.
Districts are putting safeguards in place, including social distancing rules.
Michelle Dahlke of the De Pere district thinks the first day will be great, because students will be excited to be back. But they might feel different in the upcoming days, after things start to settle in a bit.
She says it’s important for parents to continue to talk with their kids about it.
Melanie Brick of the De Pere district says it will also be hard on teachers, because they’re not able to show them care and affection, in the way they normally would.
