A 60-year-old man and his service dog were hurt in a hit-and-run crash in Menasha Sunday.
Lt. Matt Spiegel says a 28-year-old man pulled out from a stop sign while the two were crossing the road, at the corner of Appleton and 2nd streets.
The man was on a scooter, and he was taken to a hospital. The dog ran off, but the two were later reunited. The dog was limping, and is expected to recover.
Spiegel says witnesses got a description of the car, and a Fox Crossing officer spotted the driver in the Racine Road area. He was arrested on several charges, including hit and run, drunk driving, and possession of meth.
Spiegel also credits the witnesses for helping the victim until an ambulance got there.
