Protesters held a candlelight vigil at Houdini Plaza in downtown Appleton last night to show support for Jacob Blake, the man shot by a Kenosha police officer.
They’re also against President Trump’s decision to visit the state.
Some people passing by shouted at protesters, accusing Blake of being a criminal. Kiki Monea organized yesterday’s protest. She doesn’t think Blake holds any responsibility for what happened to him.
The protest was peaceful and unlike one held last week that saw demonstrators threaten volunteers in the Outagamie County Republican headquarters. The SWAT team helped the volunteers safely get out of the building.
