An expert for the state Department of Health Services believes they should be doing more testing for COVID-19.
Dr. Ryan Westergaard believes anyone having close contact with a confirmed case should get tested. He says that’s even if they don’t have any symptoms.
Westergaard says that’s because the most recent estimates show 40 percent of cases might not have any symptoms. He says about half of the confirmed cases .might be coming from asymptomatic carriers.
Westergaard thinks 100 percent of people with symptoms should be getting tested.
