U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says the Chinese Communist Party is trying to influence Americans.
He was at the state Capitol in Madison yesterday to meet with lawmakers. He hopes states will work more closely with the federal government to prevent that.
Pompeo says China’s sister city program is run by the country’s official overseas propaganda tool. He also wants to make sure pro-Democracy college students from China aren’t harassed while they’re in the U.S.
Republican Senate President Roger Roth of Appleton invited Pompeo.
