UW-Oshkosh is putting more rules in place, and increasing testing, because of coronavirus.
Students in dorms will now be tested every other week, and they’ll have limits on visitors. Chancellor Andrew Leavitt says they can only have one visitor, and the person must be a UW-Oshkosh student.
The university’s dining spots will also only have take-out for the next two weeks.
He says contact tracing shows they haven’t had problems with in-person classes, and they now plan to continue them after Thanksgiving.
Leavitt thinks a small segment of students isn’t taking necessary precautions, and some are even knowingly putting others at risk. He’s warning them the university increased the penalties for violating coronavirus restrictions.
He says they still have to follow them, even if they already had COVID-19 and recovered.
