The clerk in the village of Scandinavia in Waupaca County is concerned about a rule the United States Postal Service is deciding to enforce.
Renee Smith says all first class mail in the village stayed in the village but now it’s being rerouted to Milwaukee for processing. She thinks that will delay absentee ballots. Smith reached out to the Wisconsin Elections Commission for answers. Smith says the commission told her it’s a longstanding nationwide USPS policy that they’re now enforcing.
Smith says they’ve never had as many absentee ballot requests as they do this year. She says people concerned about mailing their completed ballot can hand it directly to her.
