This is the fifth week of all online classes in the Appleton school district, and administrators are putting together solutions for the challenges they’re facing.
Assistant Superintendent Nan Bunnow says they’ve had some technology issues, now that all K-6 students have their own laptop. She says there’s a steep learning curve for everyone, with the different programs the district is using. She believes it’s been most difficult for the youngest students, because they need someone to help them navigate their way through them during the day.
Bunnow says they’ve also heard from students and families that the workload is too much, or not enough. She encourages parents to talk with the teachers about that.
The school board spent more than two hours looking at the different successes and challenges the district has had, so far.
