The victims of a reported hate crime in Appleton are calling it “cowardly and unacceptable behavior.”
They say at least one person tried to break into their home on E. South Street last Saturday night. After that, anti-Semitic and racist graffiti was spray-painted on the house, and there was an explosion and fire on the outside of the home. A neighbor was able to put out the flames.
The victims say they’re disturbed, but also thankful for the support of others in the community.
Appleton police continue to investigate the incident.
