More than 15,000 people in the Fox Valley and Green Bay areas have recovered from coronavirus, and a nonprofit hopes they’ll donate plasma.
Kristine Belanger of the Community Blood Center says their plasma has antibodies in it, and demand has more than doubled over the past two weeks. She says the convalescent plasma goes to local hospitals to treat local COVID-19 patients.
Belanger says they also need donors of all blood types for non-coronavirus patients.
People need to make an appointment to donate plasma or blood.
