The City of Appleton’s proposed five-year plan for projects looks different.
Mayor Jake Woodford says he’s focusing more on infrastructure, like streets and utilities. He plans to spend a little more than $34 million in those areas next year. Fifty-four percent of the money over five years would go toward infrastructure.
Woodford is also setting aside $2.4 million next year for a new or expanded library on the current site. He says that money would be used for the planning and design of the project.
The capital budget doesn’t include about $30 million for a parking ramp that would be part of the U.S. Venture project. Woodford says the city isn’t looking to build that anymore.
