After being canceled last year, the Appleton Flag Day Parade will be held this year. Organizer Corey Otis is confident the parade will be about the same size as usual.
Organizers typically honor a different branch of the military each year but Otis says this year they’re honoring frontline health care workers and essential workers who kept the country going. The theme is Home of the Brave.
The parade begins at 2 p.m. at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Oneida Streets on June 12th.
He says unfortunately they’re not confident enough in COVID numbers to hold a Memorial Day Parade. A Moment of Remembrance Ceremony will be live-streamed at 9 a.m. Monday, May 31st.
