Outagamie County has the go-ahead to expand its landfill in Little Chute. The D-N-R has approved the air quality permits for an expansion project that will extend the life of the current facility for another 15-years. Neighbors had complained about odors coming from the landfill–but County Board Chairman Jeff Nooyen says they have plans in place to address that. Outagamie, Winnebago and Brown Counties share landfill space–with Outagamie County currently accepting garbage from all three. Brown County is currently working on siting a new landfill to collect trash when the Little Chute facility is full.
