The Fox Locks will open tomorrow, two weeks ahead of schedule.
Fox River Navigational System Authority CEO Jeremy Cords says five additional miles of riverway will be open, after 20 years of being closed. He says that means 30 miles altogether.
The Kaukauna Locks will also open this summer. The five locks through the city were closed because a lift bridge was broken. The $2.2 million repair project was mostly funded by the state Department of Transportation. The City of Kaukauna is paying for 20 percent of repair costs.
