Oshkosh school officials defend a new administrative guideline that no longer requires teachers or staff to get parental consent to call students who identify as transgender by different names or pronouns.
School Board President Bob Poeschl supports the change and thinks all other parents should too. He feels it gives children a safe spot that’s conducive to emotional, mental and educational growth..
Poeschl adds that these type of administrative guideline changes are not required to come before the school board for public comment or approval.
