Gov. Evers orders flags lowered to half-staff to commemorate 80th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor Attack
U.S. and Wisconsin state flags are ordered to fly at half-staff tomorrow, December 7th, in remembrance of the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Governor Evers issued order 145 as part of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. In signing that order, the governor says “Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is an opportunity to thank our veterans and pay respects to those who have known the true cost of freedom. We honor their memory and their legacy.” Some 2400 U.S. service members died in the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii by forces of the then Empire of Japan.
