Green Bay Police may be getting more money to battle an increase in gun violence. The city’s Finance Committee approves 850-thousand dollars in technology purchases for the department. Those include a gunshot detection system, a machine to examine shell casings, more money for recruiting of additional patrol officers, and a new surveillance trailer. Six-hundred-55-thousand of those expenses will be covered by American Rescue Plan Act funds. Green Bay has seen a dramatic increase in shooting incidents this year–including three involving the same house on Hubbard Street in the space of two weeks.
