Increasing COVID-19 cases and concerns over the rapidly spreading omicron variant are closing down a planned New Year’s Eve celebration in the Fox Cities. Mile of Music organizers announce the planned New Year’s Encore Eve at Gibson Community Music Hall is canceled. Mile of Music and music hall officials say the cancellation, in their words, “is the right decision at this time amid this current surge in omicron infections within (the) community and state.” Ticket holders will receive full refunds in the coming week.
