The planned redevelopment of the former Golden Corral site in Oshkosh gets support from the planning commission. Though, commissioners still have some concerns. G-C Oshkosh Holdings, L-L-C wants to demolish the former buffet restaurant on South Koeller Street and build two drive-in eateries, including a Panda Express. The developer is requesting a rezoning to allow for a total of 106 parking spaces for the two businesses, which is twice the number allowed. Developer Ryan Xavier says changing markets make the additional spaces necessary.
Planning Commission Chair Kathleen Propp voted in favor of the rezoning request, but believes a workshop is needed before a final site plan comes forward.
The plan commission also hopes to discuss needed improvements to driveways onto South Koeller Street.
