A juvenile is being charged in connection with a bomb scare this morning at Little Chute High School and Intermediate School campus. Police were called to the campus just before eight Wednesday morning for a report of a suspicious person carrying a bag. The campus was then put into lockdown mode. Fox Valley Metro Police with help from Kaukauna Police the Appleton Police Department K-9 Unit and Outagamie County Sheriff’s Deputies searched the grounds and found nothing. Investigators eventually met up with a student suspect, who said the incident started as a joke. Fox Valley Metro Police Lt. Mark Wery says the potential charges are no laughing matter.
Lt. Wery also commends students who reacted when they heard of the perceived threat.
Classes returned to normal operations later in the morning. The suspect, who is a juvenile, is not being identified.
