Two Georgia residents are accused of trying to defraud Northeast Wisconsin banks. Michael Harvey, Junior and Shanika Harvey have been indicted in federal court on charges of Financial Institution Fraud. According to the indictment, the Harveys stole checks from local business mailboxes–altered them–and paid people small amounts to cash them and send them the money. Investigators say the duo took more than 160-thousand dollars from area financial institutions. They both face up to 30-years in prison if convicted.
