Senator Roger Roth to run for lieutenant governor

State Senator Roger Roth of Appleton is seeking the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor.

Senator Roth will be making an official announcement Thursday morning at Alpha-Prime Inc. in Menasha.

Roth has served in the state Senate since 2014. He also spent two years in the state Assembly before that.

Several republicans and democrats are running in the lieutenant governor race. Current Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes is running as a democrat for U.S. Senate.
