An Appleton man who came to Wisconsin from Ukraine as a child says Russia’s attack on his native country has been building since 2014. Jonathon Pylytiv says Vladimir Putin’s motives have been clear since Russia invaded and annexed Crimea in 2014. Pylytyv believes Putin is making good on threats made to other nations now that Russian forces have captured the Chernobyl nuclear facility.
Pylytiv believes as Ukraine goes, so goes the rest of Europe.
Pylytiv also believes other nations ending their purchases of Russian oil and natural gas would be effective measures against Putin.
