People will learn how Appleton residents, in their own words, got through the seemingly endless COVID-19 pandemic and other challenges. Those accounts are part of the “Community Powered” initiative sponsored by Wisconsin Humanities. That initiative will be hosted by the Appleton Public Library. Chrissy Widmayer, the Co-Director of Community Powered, says recorded interviews will share the stories of how people press on in times of uncertainty.
Yee Lee Vue, the Adult Services and Community Engagement Librarian, says the “Community Powered” initiative will augment the library’s current efforts to record Appleton’s history.
It’s hoped that the “Community Powered” initiative will serve as a starting point to help people envision and develop the type of community they’d like to live in.
