GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Area School District Board of Education announces the immediate retirement of Superintendent Steve Murley.
The board granted Murley’s request to retire due to personal health reasons that he and his family decided need his full attention.
Murley beaome superintendent in July 2020. He previously served as superintendent of the Iowa City Community School District.
The Board of Education also appointed Deputy Superintendent Vicki Bayer to serve as Interim Superintendent of Schools and Learning, effective Tuesday.
In the next few weeks the Board of Education will begin discussions regarding a timeline for the superintendent search.
