Businessman Tim Michels files notice of campaign committee Friday with the state Elections Commission.
Michels ran an unsuccessful campaign for the U.S. senate in 2004, losing to Democrat Russ Feingold.
He joins former Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, businessman Kevin Nicholson, and Rep. Timothy Ramthun in the GOP race in the August primary.
