MANITOWOC, Wis. — A Manitowoc man known as the “War Uber” driver is back in Wisconsin.
Barry Nelson, a military veteran, spent three weeks delivering supplies to Ukrainian communities hit hard by Russia’s invasion.
That included delivering an industrial mixer to a bakery that has been the only daily, free food source for Ukraine residents.
Nelson tells Action 2 News delivering vital supplies directly to the people affected by the invasion is humbling. All of the supplies Nelson delivered came through donations to Wisconsin Ukrainians.
The group says those goods could not have gotten to those who need them without Barry Nelson’s help.
