MENASHA, WI — The Long Lake gator has a new home. The small American alligator pulled last week from the waters of Long Lake near Campbellsport in Fond du Lac County is now safe at the Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary in Athens, Michigan, which is near Battle Creek. The gator was shipped there by J & R Aquatic Animal Rescue in Menasha. J-and-R reminds people with exotic pets that they no longer want to contact them rather than turning them lose in the wild. J & R will bring the animals to qualified sanctuaries.
