APPLETON, WI — Property crime increases in Appleton over the past several week. The Appleton Police Department says most of those crimes involve thefts of unlocked vehicles with the keys left inside, unsecured garages and bikes left unlocked. Police have also responded to incidents at multiple financial institutions where thieves have attempted to steal A-T-M machines. Appleton Police recommend you lock the doors to your homes, vehicles and garages and increase outdoor lighting to give potential thieves fewer opportunities to steal. If you notice something out of the ordinary, contact your local police agency.
