APPLETON, Wis. — Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson suspends his campaign for the U.S. Senate.
Nelson cited financial issues as the reason. He is endorsing Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, whom he says is “one candidate who is not trying to buy this election.”
Barnes is among seven Democratic candidates for the Senate seat held by Republican Ron Johnson.
The fall primary is Aug. 9.
