WAUPACA, Wis–Criminal charges are filed against a Weyauwega man 30 years after the murders of a Waupaca County couple. Tony Haase is charged in Waupaca County Court with two counts of First-Degree Intentional Homicide.
According to the criminal complaint, Haase was drunk when he stabbed Tanna Togstad and Timothy Mumbrue to death in their Royalton farmhouse in March of 1992. The murders were prompted by the fact that Togstad’s father was involved in a snowmobile crash that killed Haase’s father 15 years earlier.
A D-N-A sample taken during a recent traffic stop identified Haase as the suspect. Bond has been set at $2-million cash.
