CHILTON, Wis. — A Hilbert man will spend 11 years in prison for his role in a kidnapping for ransom scheme.
Ever Cruz-Gonzalez is also sentenced in Calumet County Court to eight years on extended supervision for Kidnapping and Bail Jumping.
Cruz-Gonzalez and Juan Cruz-Gonzales lured a Columbia County man to Hilbert in March of 2021 by posing as a woman looking for sex on the internet. When the man arrived, the suspects attacked him and held him against his will, demanding payment to let him go.
Juan Cruz-Gonzales is already serving a 15-year prison sentence.
