CHICAGO, Ill–A lawsuit filed by a local conservative group to block President Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan may be heading to the US Supreme Court. A Federal Appeals Court has denied a request from the Brown County Taxpayers Association to take up its suit and issue a temporary injunction, which was dismissed earlier this month in Green Bay Federal Court.
The judges have found that the Taxpayers Association does not have legal standing to bring the suit. The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, which is handling the case, expects to ask the Supreme Court to review the case. The student loan repayment program is scheduled to start on Sunday.
