OSHKOSH, Wis–Ownership of a downtown Oshkosh hotel may be changing hands. Scarlett Hotel Group of Chicago has an offer in to purchase the Best Western Premier on North Main Street.
The current hotel funded improvements through tax incremental financing from the city. City Manager Mark Rohloff says they will need to negotiate some contracts with the potential new owners first.
The owners of the hotel are also responsible for day to day operations of the adjoining Oshkosh Convention Center, and the city provides maintenance of the hotel’s parking ramp. Those deals would also have to be worked out with a new owner.
