About half of all abortions in the US are medication abortions as opposed to the surgical kind. Needless to say, there is a level of safety and success that accompanies this approach to terminate a pregnancy. Having access to medication abortion is considered the gold standard for women, and as things stand right now, women in Wisconsin cannot choose this option as a result of the 1849 abortion ban.
I was joined by State Senator in the 26th district, Kelda Roys to talk about the history of this medication, the effect of the 1849 abortion ban, and why the Wisconsin Supreme Court election could have a massive impact on women’s choice to learn about different abortion options.
