OMRO, Wis. — A 22-year-old man is in custody in connection with a disturbance and the death of a 20-year-old woman in Omro.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s SWAT team assisted Omro Police officers at a residence in the Spruce Street area Friday. They were dispatched to the scene on reports of a disturbance with a weapon in which a suspect fired a gun multiple times inside that residence.
Following talks with negotiators and a brief stand-off, the suspect came out and was taken into custody.
Officers found the body of the 20-year-old woman inside the building. Authorities have not released details on how she was killed or the circumstances leading up to her death.
The incident is still under investigation.
