UPDATE: the De Pere Police Department issues a news release on its Facebook page saying a suspect who barricade himself in restroom at the store is now in custody. De Pere Police were initially called around 9:32 this morning to the Walmart on Lawrence Drive for reports of a man behaving erratically, making strange comments and falling into store shelves. When officers arrived, they saw that the man was armed with two large knives. Officers believe the man was intoxicated or under the influence of drugs. The man refused to comply with officers, ran from them and locked himself in the restroom. Green Bay Police, the De Pere Fire Department and the Brown County SWAT assisted De Pere officers. The store was cleared of employees and shoppers as a precaution. The suspect was transported to a local hospital. The incident remains under investigation.
