It has happened again. Another school shooting, with 6 dying in a Christian School in Nashville, Tennessee.
We want our children to no longer have to fear for their lives when they head to school, but we haven’t done enough to ensure their safety.
President Biden has had to respond to numerous school shootings in his first two-plus years in office…see if you notice a common theme:
3/27/23…. “We have to do more to stop gun violence. It’s ripping our communities apart, ripping at the very soul of the nation. And we have to do more to protect our schools so they are not turned into prisons.”
5/24/22 (after Uvalde, Tx) …. “As a nation, we have to ask: When in God’s name are we going to stand up to the gun lobby? When in God’s name will we do what we all know in our gut needs to be done?”
11/30/21…. President Joe Biden after the shootings that took 4 lives in Michigan….
“As we learn the full details my heart goes out to the families enduring the unimaginable grief of losing a loved one.”
You’ll hear the bluster in Congress, witness the shoulder shrugs and then hear “we’re not going to fix this.” No one claims this will be easy to fix, but can you put down the campaign contribution check from gun lobbies long enough to care more than just “thoughts and prayers?”
