APPLETON, Wis–The Outagamie County Board votes to censure one of its members over comments concerning trans-gender people. The vote was 21 to 8 to censure Supervisor Timothy Hermes of Little Chute for comments he made about trans-gender people using women’s bathrooms at the May 9th meeting.
Board Chairman Jeff Nooyen says that was just the latest in several incidents involving Hermes that resulted in questionable language………………
Nooyen also brought up an incident at a Wisconsin Counties Association meeting where Hermes harassed the Milwaukee County Board Chairperson during a discussion on diversity, equity, and inclusion, resulting in his being asked to leave the room. Supervisor Joe Santanato of Appleton supported the censure of Hermes, saying he disgraced the entire county……………
Last night, Hermes doubled down on his comments from last month’s county board meeting………….
