UPDATE: Police say the bear got down from the tree late Monday night and headed south. They add that it has not been seen since around midnight and is hopefully back in nature.

GREEN BAY, Wis–Green Bay Police have closed off several streets due to a bear in a tree. Residents in the area of Lore Lane reported spotting a black bear around 5:40 this (Monday) morning. The bear was later found in a tree.
Officers are asking people to stay away from the area of Lore, South Oneida, Western Avenue, and Maryhill Drive so as not to stress the bear, which they believe will eventually come down.
