TWO RIVERS, Wis. — An investigation is underway in Two Rivers into the drowning Saturday of a 12-year-old boy at Neshotah Beach.
Police say the boy was last seen just before noon in the water at the northernmost end of Neshotah Beach.
Water rescue teams from the Two Rivers and Manitowoc fire departments, the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department Drone Team, Eagle III and a U.S. Coast Guard conducted a search of the area. A Two Rivers police officer located the boy in the water 1/2 mile from where he was last seen. That officer and an off-duty Manitowoc police officer pulled the boy to shore where life-saving measures were started.
The boy was taken to Aurora Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
