The entire crux of this show is based on the idea that no matter what your life situation is, we can find more in common with each other than we think. I am well aware that I am not the only one who thinks this way, and I am always on the lookout for like-minded individuals.
I learned about the Rural Urban Bridge Initiative (RUBI) while reading an article about the “Rural New Deal”, which is an effort to rebuild the infrastructure and capacity to establish a life in rural communities.
Many of the issues facing these areas of the country mirror what pockets of people in urban communities are also going through, and the Executive Director of RUBI, Anthony Flaccavento, believes that by addressing the concerns of the American citizens that have had their needs ignored for the last several decades, we can begin to move forward in a country that is more sustainable and fair for all parties involved.
