Dave Edwards and It’s Just my Take 9-29-23
Weird to actually pull for rain clouds to form, but right now, I’m a big fan.
Ok, some perspective here. We went through numerous years where it rained so much, we couldn’t turn off the faucet. Remember the back-to-back years when we broke the precip record one year and smashed it the very next one? You couldn’t take a walk in your yard without hearing squish on every step.
Don’t get me wrong—I love warm weather with 70’s and 80’s extending into October—bring it on. That said, the entire state is in some form of drought, even after this week’s rains that greatly assisted points to the west. It just seems like the soft, soaking rains of the past have been replaced by extremely spotty thundershowers that give you an inch…or a sprinkle. All depends on location, location, location!
We often talk about the “bubble” that tends to ward off rains in this area…folklore, old wives tale, conspiracy theory….or is the truth really out there?
