LOMIRA, WI — Dodge County Sheriff’s Deputies respond Friday afternoon to an emergency request from a Wisconsin State Trooper in the Village of Lomira. The state trooper had located a vehicle with two possible suspects allegedly involved in a serious crime in Appleton. Around 2:15 P.M. the suspects ran from the vehicle into a local business and at least one was believed to be armed with a gun. One of the suspects returned to the vehicle and took off, nearly striking the state trooper. That vehicle was last seen heading southbound on I-41. The other suspect fled on foot and was later taken into custody. Schools were letting out at the time of the incidents and law enforcement recommended no buses be allowed to leave the property. That recommendation was lifted at 3:39 P.M. The incident remains under investigation.
